An Event for Allied Healthcare Professional Managers, Researcher and Practitioners
We are delighted to inform you of an event that is being jointly organised by the Research Forum for Allied Health Professions and the National Physiotherapy Research Network, with support from Trent Research and Development Support Unit, which addresses the role of evidence of effectiveness in the commissioning and provision of AHP services.
Healthcare interventions and service delivery methods are increasingly under scrutiny to ensure that services provided are both clinically and cost-effective. The AHPs are potentially vulnerable to any requirement to provide research-based evidence for effectiveness due to the relatively low research base of these professions.
This event will examine some of the drivers for evidence-based services, and how to encourage a culture in which existing evidence is used to improve AHP services and new evidence is sought.
Please see the attached flyer for details and we hope that you can join us on June 25-26th 2008 for this event. Please circulate this to any others that you feel might be interested. Further details can be found on the web site at www.northampton.ac.uk/health/evidence
