The PRCA committee would like to invite you to join them at this year’s BSR / BHPR Spring Meeting. We expect to see a good representation from the PRCA membership, joining many of our Rheumatology colleagues at the conference.
The main event for the PRCA membership at this years meeting is the Launch of the ‘Standards of Care for People with Musculoskeletal Foot Health Problems’. This is an important document informing musculoskeletal practice for all Foot Health Services. The standards come packaged with educational, supporting and implementation materials. Do look out for the stand in the exhibition hall, manned by PRCA members for more information. Do contact the committee if you would like to help with the launch.
This year’s programme has much to interest podiatrists working in the field of rheumatology and offers plenty of good networking opportunities to share expertise with our colleagues working in other areas.
Of particular note are the RA Foot ‘Meet the Expert’ Workshop and the Foot and Ankle Special Interest Group. The highlights of the BHPR programme include Patient Education in Practice, Taking up Innovation, Exercise Prescription in RA, Ethnicity issues, Clinical Evidence Guidelines for AHP’s, NICE OA Guidelines, Self Image Issues and Managing Life with Rheumatological Conditions. The BSR programme can also be dipped into with the clear highlight being the key note Heberden Oration – this year given by Professor Simon Wessely, a world wide expert in the psychological aspects of pain (see his Wikipedia entry).
Liverpool is the European City of Culture 2008, with much to offer socially and the conference centre venue is brand new offering excellent ‘state of the art’ facilities in a stunning location.
We look forward to seeing you there.
